Biden Administration Sends Decisive and Strong Signal with Green Climate Fund Pledge

Dubai, UAE – At the United Nations Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP28), Vice President Kamala Harris will announce the United States will pledge $3 billion toward the United Nations Green Climate Fund.

In response, Sierra Club Managing Director Eva Hernandez released the following statement:

“In committing to contribute $3 billion to the Green Climate Fund, Vice President Kamala Harris and the Biden administration are sending a decisive and strong signal that the United States will fulfill our obligations to the green climate pledge. The Sierra Club is encouraged by today’s announcement, and we call on Congress to meet our commitment to aid the world in combating the climate crisis head on.”
