Sierra Club Statement on Passing of Ady Barkan

Boston, MA – Late last night, Ady Barkan passed away from complications relating to ALS. He was 39 years old. 

In memoriam, Sierra Club Executive Director Ben Jealous released the following statement:

“Ady was a remarkable person and friend. In life, he showed the world that using your voice for change does not require the ability to talk. In memory, he will remain a galvanizing figure creating a better community – with easy and equitable access to healthcare.”
