WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, the Sierra Club joins over 150 advocacy groups in launching the #SolutionsForPollution campaign. This campaign calls on the Biden Administration to set the strongest possible pollution standards to meet the president’s commitment to slash climate pollution by at least half by 2030 and to protect our health, communities, air, water, land and wildlife from dangerous pollution. The Biden Administration has existing authority under laws like the Clean Air Act to advance approximately 20 protections to safeguard communities historically overburdened by pollution, cut pollution from power plants, cars and trucks, industrial sources, and advance energy efficiency and clean energy development.

In response, Sierra Club’s Senior Director of Climate Policy and Federal Partnerships Liz Perera released the following statement:

"Sierra Club is proud to stand with the 150+ environmental, justice, youth, and public advocacy groups in the launch of the Solutions for Pollution campaign to urge the Biden Administration to use its existing authority to advance the strongest possible climate, public health, and toxic pollution protections. Together, we’ll help raise awareness and push for these critical protections."
