Through lies and preposterous remarks, Donald Trump has proven time and again he simply does not understand what the American electorate wants (a 100% clean energy economy). When given yet another chance last night -- hopefully the final time he will ever be on a presidential debate stage -- Trump again chose to spew repeatedly debunked claims… all while the people continue to suffer from the consequences of the climate crisis.
While Donald Trump spends his time with corporate polluter executives, Vice President Joe Biden has put forward the boldest clean energy plan ever from a presidential nominee -- one that enjoys support from two-thirds of the country.
While Trump is wasting the taxpayer’s money bailing out fossil fuel lobbyists and their polluting clients to the tune of over $181 million, Joe Biden is calling for an end to subsidizing the fossil fuel industry, a policy which enjoys over 55% support from voters.
And while Donald Trump spreads outlandish lies about clean energy -- an industry that supports nearly 94,000 jobs in Pennsylvania, more than 241,000 in Texas, over 166,000 in Florida, and nearly 115,000 in Ohio -- Joe Biden is calling for a massive investment to create more than 10 million jobs in the field.
Simply put, Donald Trump has failed. He’s failed to grasp the realities of the climate crisis, he’s failed to value the clean energy industry and the millions of people it employs, he’s failed to recognize that and in less than two weeks, he’ll fail to recapture the White House.
