OAKLAND, CA - Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune released the following statement to mark this year’s International Day Against Homophobia:

“The LGBTQ+ community in this country and around the world deserve the right to thrive in a safe and inclusive environment. As we celebrate this year’s International Day Against Homophobia, we must continue to honor the contributions and lived experiences of LGBTQ+ people who have the right to live in a world free of hatred and discrimination. To all LGBTQ+ Sierra Club members and supporters - thank you for your fearlessness and for your commitment to affirming equitable access to our planet for all people.”
