Washington, DC — Los representantes Demócratas revelaron hoy dos artículos de enjuiciamiento presidencial que acusan a Donald Trump de abuso de poder y obstrucción al Congreso.
Como respuesta, el director ejecutivo del Sierra Club, Michael Brune, emitió la siguiente declaración:
“Ha quedado abundantemente claro por medio de testimonios de funcionarios que el Presidente Trump intentó interferir en las elecciones de 2020 para ayudar a su propia campaña de reelección. El Sierra Club aplaude a los representantes demócratas por realizar un minucioso proceso que sirvió como base del anuncio de hoy de los artículos de enjuiciamiento y por avanzar hacia la protección del orden democrático.
“Los actos corruptos y el abuso de poder de Trump amenazan la estructura legal y democrática que utilizamos par proteger la salud y seguridad de nuestras comunidades. Está en juego la limpieza del agua, la limpieza del aire y la seguridad del clima. El Sierra Club agradece a los demócratas por confrontar los actos corruptos de Trump. Ahora urgimos a todo el Congreso a defender las elecciones libres y justas, la separación de poderes y la Constitución votando por el enjuiciamiento de Trump”.

Sierra Club Applauds House Democrats for Releasing Articles of Impeachment
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, House Democrats unveiled two articles of impeachment charging Donald Trump with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
In response, Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune released the following statement:
"It is now abundantly clear, through many officials' testimony, that President Trump tried to interfere in the 2020 elections in order to help his reelection campaign. Sierra Club applauds House Democrats for their thorough process that served as the foundation of today’s release of the articles of impeachment and moving forward to protect our democracy.
“Trump’s corrupt acts and abuses of power threaten the legal and democratic infrastructure we use to keep our communities healthy and safe. Our clean water is at stake. Our clean air is at stake. And a safe climate is at stake. Sierra Club thanks House Democrats for taking a stand against Trump’s corrupt acts. Now we ask all of Congress to stand for free & fair elections, checks & balances, and with the Constitution and vote to impeachment."
