WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, 10 Democratic Presidential candidates will discuss their plans to tackle the climate crisis during CNN’s climate town hall. In just the past 24 hours, six more candidates have either unveiled or built upon their existing climate plans, and Tom Steyer, who is not participating in tonight’s event, held his own climate town hall.

Meanwhile, the third round of Morning Consult’s 2020 Climate Voter tracking poll for Sierra Club released today shows that voters overwhelmingly support ambitious climate policy, as well as a climate voter supporting coalescing around three candidates. More info on the poll can be found here

Ahead of the Town Hall, the Sierra Club, with Firefly, began running ads on the top of 300 Manhattan cabs starting tonight and running through tomorrow around the CNN Town Hall. The ad features a statue of liberty standing in chest-high waters with text that reads "The Climate Crisis is here. Demand Climate Leadership."

In response, Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune released the following statement:

"We’re seeing the effects of the climate crisis on a near daily basis, and people are demanding action and accountability from our leaders. The Democratic presidential candidates are clearly hearing our calls. As Donald Trump throws away high efficiency light bulbs and commonsense, the Democratic candidates are proposing bold climate plans that tackle the crisis at the speed and scale science and justice demand. But this is just the start; we demand climate action now."
