WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Just days after a coalition of conservation groups filed a lawsuit challenging the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s approval of the Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP), the project’s developers have announced they are voluntarily suspending new construction activities in the habitats of endangered species.

In response, Sierra Club Senior Campaign Representative Joan Walker released the following statement:

"We told you so. There's no way to build this dirty, dangerous project in any manner that wouldn't directly threaten endangered species or our clean air and water. MVP should just face reality and make this voluntary suspension permanent.”
