Oakland, CA.-- In response to Donald Trump’s reported plans to withdraw the United States from the Paris Climate Accord, Climate Parents Director Lisa Hoyos issued the following statement:

“Donald Trump's recklessness in withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement means that parents and families will more firmly dedicate ourselves to advocating for climate solutions at the state and local level. Elected leaders across the country as well as countless forward-thinking companies are still rapidly transitioning to clean energy.

“The US is already one-third of the way toward meeting our Paris Agreement targets, and clean energy costs are falling fast, out-competing polluting fossil fuels all over the country. So while Trump seeks to set back our nation and the globe, we recommit to charge ahead.”

Climate Parents is a national program of Sierra Club that mobilizes parents, grandparents and families to take action on climate change and clean energy.
