The Trump Organization is facing $2.1 million a year in fines by New York City beginning in 2030 for excessive climate-disrupting emissions from its buildings, including Trump Tower.
Trump is preparing our country for the climate crisis the same way he is with his real estate endeavors -- he isn’t. The warning signs are all there, as a report from Trump’s own administration shows climate change will cost the U.S. nearly half a trillion dollars annually by 2090 in infrastructure and other costs if significant action isn’t taken to address the climate crisis.
Meanwhile, as the effects of the climate crisis multiply, Trump is ripping out the foundation of our most basic environmental and climate safeguards. He's bulldozing NEPA (the National Environmental Policy Act) by eliminating the consideration of climate and greenhouse gas emissions and taking a wrecking ball to energy efficiency research and innovation by cutting funding for the Office of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency by 70 percent.
