SAN FRANCISCO (April 11, 2019) – This Earth Month, the Sierra Club -- the nation’s largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization -- has partnered with the stop-motion animated film, Missing Link. The partnership is designed to inspire audiences to visit sc.org/missinglink to join a Sierra Club outing near them. Missing Link opens nationwide April 12

Tired of living a solitary life in the Pacific Northwest, Mr. Link (Zach Galifianakis) recruits fearless explorer Sir Lionel Frost (Hugh Jackman) to guide him on an adventure to find his long-lost relatives in the fabled valley of Shangri-La. Along with adventurer Adelina Fortnight (Zoe Saldana), they travel to the far reaches of the world to help their new friend. Through it all, the three learn that sometimes you can find a family in the places you least expect. The globe-trotting family adventure from LAIKA opens in theaters nationwide this Friday, April 12.

The Sierra Club was founded in 1892, has 3.5 million members and supporters, and is committed to getting people outside through various programs for low income students, military veterans, local community outings and environmentally friendly adventure travel, from Tahoe to Tibet. The Sierra Club is working toward a just, equitable, and sustainable future where all people benefit from a healthy, thriving planet and a direct connection to nature.

Sierra Club’s successes range from protecting millions of acres of wilderness to helping pass the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Endangered Species Act. Most recently, the Sierra Club made history by leading the charge on a just transition beyond the dirty fossil fuels that cause climate disruption to 100% clean energy for all, including helping retire 250 coal plants across the country and working to secure commitments from 119 U.S. cities to transition to 100% clean energy.
