WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, the Sierra Club released a poll conducted by Global Strategy Group that shows Nevada voters overwhelmingly reject the Trump Administration’s approach -- or lack thereof -- to dealing with the climate crisis and protecting our air and water. In fact, when asked to rate the Administration's job performance on a range of issues, respondents give it its worst marks on climate and the environment. Rather, Nevada voters agree that climate change is a problem that should be addressed by federal and state government.
Key findings include:

74% of Nevada supports moving the state to 100% clean electricity by 2045

86% of Nevada wants the U.S. government to take action on climate change

62% of Nevada disapproves of the Trump administration’s handling of climate

In response, Sierra Club Beyond Coal Campaign Representative Elspeth DiMarzio released the following statement:
“The support for more clean energy infrastructure just keeps growing in Nevada now that it’s so clear it’s the best way to save money, to strengthen our economy, and to stop making climate change worse. The overwhelming support for clean energy and action on climate change makes this one area where voters across the political spectrum are aligning.”
Sierra Club Polling and Research Director Grace McRae released the following statement:
"While the Trump Administration is rolling back our clean air, water, and climate safeguards in favor of dirty fossil fuels like coal, polling demonstrates that Nevada voters prefer that the country not only act on climate but transition to 100% clean energy. This poll should serve as a wake up call for the Trump Administration -- Nevada and people all across the United States want climate action and they want it now.”
