WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Rep. Randy Hultgren has lost his reelection for the House of Representatives.

Hultgren was targeted by the Sierra Club Political Committee as a top “Fossil Fool” because he has made his allegiance to corporate polluters clear by voting repeatedly against climate action, clean air and water protections. Congressman Hultgren has an abysmal 5% environmental voting record according to the League of Conservation Voters Scorecard, and he voted with the environment 0% of the time last year. Since first running for Congress, he has taken $81,250 from oil and gas interests.

In Response, Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune Released The Following Statement

“The Sierra Club targeted Fossil Fool Randy Hultgren for defeat because of his awful record of voting against the environment and with corporate polluters. We heartily congratulate Lauren Underwood on her victory tonight and look forward to working with her to protect clean air, clean water, our public lands and our climate.”
