Portland, OR -- Democrat Kate Brown has won her re-election campaign to be Oregon’s governor. Brown campaigned on investing in clean, renewable energy and protecting Oregon’s coasts from offshore drilling.

In response, Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune released the following statement:

“The Sierra Club is proud to congratulate climate champion Governor Kate Brown on her re-election. Brown’s victory tonight is a reminder that Oregonians want their communities safe from polluters, their coasts protected, investments in clean energy, and action on climate. Kate has proven she doesn’t just talk about climate action, she makes it happen. We look forward to continuing to work with Governor Brown to tackle the climate crisis, create clean energy jobs, and protect our clean air and water and Oregon’s coastline.”
