WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee today advanced a host of public lands legislation including, Restore Our Parks, Land and Water Conservation Fund, Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks Conservation Act, Every Kid Outdoors Act and the Yellowstone Gateway Protection Act.
In response, Athan Manuel, director of Public Lands Protection for Sierra Club issued the following statement.
“The committee today had an opportunity to advance legislation to get kids outside, reauthorize the Land and Water Conservation Fund, and address the maintenance backlog at our national parks.
“We’re pleased to see these positive measures move forward and urge Senators to pass this legislation without delay, and to keep anti-conservation out of any end of the year package."
