WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Passed by the Senate last night and the House today was the minibus Energy and Water Spending Bill. The vote advances a bipartisan spending bill -- free of dirty and dangerous riders -- that prioritizes investments in clean water programs, environmental cleanup, and renewable energy development.

In response, Sierra Club Associate Legislative Director Kirin Kennedy released the following statement:

"Again, Congress has rejected Trump’s priorities and his dirty budget that prioritizes corporate polluter profits over the health and safety of our families, and instead voted to protect our kids’ health and our great outdoors by prioritizing investments in our clean air, water and energy. This is what the public wants, and it’s vital that this momentum continues and that Congress resists Trump’s attacks, rejects toxic riders and passes clean federal budget legislation that protects our families health and our wild places.”
