Salt Lake City, UT -- Saturday, September 8th, Comunidades Unidas, the Utah Sierra Club, and 350.org are hosting a voter registration drive and educational event at the Northwest Recreation and Community Center in the Fairpark neighborhood of Salt Lake City. This event is affiliated with the national call to action to Rise for Climate, Jobs and Justice, and coincides with thousands of simultaneous events across the country, including the People’s Climate March in San Francisco, California.
Volunteers will gather at 10:00 AM for an educational training on voter registration. Teams will then split off to engage the public near the Fairpark Station Trax Station and the Utah State Fair. Additional volunteers will engage in a Honk and Wave exercise on North Temple and 100 West to raise awareness for voter registration efforts and action for climate and immigrant justice.
