LAS VEGAS, NV - Last week, E&E News reported that U.S. Senator Dean Heller’s campaign has raked in nearly $175,000 from out-of-state mining companies. That includes fifty donors connected to one Pennsylvania-based mining company, Jennmar Corporation. Meanwhile, E&E notes that “In Congress, Heller has stressed domestic mineral production.”

In Response, Brian Beffort, Director of the Sierra Club Toiyabe Chapter, released the following statement:

“It’s as simple as this: corporate polluters from all over the country are rushing to invest in Dean Heller because they know he’ll put their dirty agenda before the health of Nevada families. Dean Heller has proven time and time again that he’s rigging the system to work for corporate polluters, which is why the Sierra Club is backing a champion like Jacky Rosen who will fight to protect our air and water from out-of-state corporate polluters who don’t have Nevada’s best interests in mind.”
