Denver, CO - Today, Jared Polis secured the Democratic Nomination in the Colorado Gubernatorial Primary. The Sierra Club Independent Expenditure Committee of Colorado ran a campaign in support of Polis that contacted 350,000 voters and ran television ads touting Polis’ support of moving Colorado to a 100% clean energy economy.

The Sierra Club of Colorado issued the following statements congratulating Jared Polis on winning the Colorado Democratic Gubernatorial Primary:

"Sierra Club members across Colorado were proud to have supported Jared throughout this race and we are thrilled to congratulate him on this victory. Jared is the only choice this election who will defend Colorado values, from the Eastern Plains to the Western Slope. Jared will lead Colorado to 100% clean, renewable energy by 2040, bring universal, single payer healthcare to our state, and work to build an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top. In contrast, Jared’s Republican opponent has made it clear he’ll partner with corporate special interests that threaten our Colorado values. Colorado voters--Republicans, Democrats, and Independents alike--want leadership, and Jared is the ready to deliver real, bold results. We look  forward to supporting Jared all the way to November and beyond.” said Colorado Sierra Club Director, Jim Alexee.
