Nation’s Largest Grassroots Environmental Organization Praises Lee’s Strong Commitment to Protecting the Environment and Public Health
Las Vegas, NV -- Today, the Nevada Sierra Club announced its endorsement of Susie Lee to be the next Congresswoman for Nevada’s 3rd Congressional district.
“The Sierra Club knows that Susie will be a climate champion as she fights to protect the health and well-being of Nevadans,” said Nevada Sierra Club Political Chair Tobi Tyler. “From protecting our clean air and water, to being a lifelong advocate for our public lands, to guaranteeing Nevada’s natural beauty isn’t sold for a quick buck, Susie will stand with Nevadans first.”
Susie Lee’s first job out of college was as an environmental consultant, and since then, she has been a strong proponent of conservation, including being a lifetime member of the Protectors of Tule Springs, advocating for Basin and Range’s national monument designation, and calling for the preservation of Red Rock. Susie has committed to cementing Nevada as a leader in clean energy, preventing Yucca Mountain from being turned into a nuclear waste dump, and blocking dangerous Congressional attacks on our clean air and water.
"As an outdoorswoman and someone who has been active in conservation work in Nevada for years, it means so much to me to have the support of the Nevada Sierra Club,” said Susie Lee. “I look forward to working with Sierra Club members to be a champion for our environment in Congress."
The Sierra Club will mobilize its members and supporters to elect Susie Lee.
