WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, Donald Trump issued an executive order that would target Muslims for “extreme vetting.”

In response, Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune released the following statement:

"Donald Trump’s discrimination against Muslims and refugees tramples on the American values we hold highest. All individuals -- no matter their religion, ethnicity, or race -- have the right to be treated equally under the law. The Sierra Club is in total solidarity with Muslims, people of color, immigrants, women, and all those threatened by Trump’s administration. Protecting our communities and our environment go hand-in-hand, and everyone who values a just and free America should continue to resist hateful actions like this one."
