Los Angeles, CA -- Today, the Sierra Club launched an ad campaign urging the Los Angeles Metro to make the switch to zero emission buses. On July 27, the Metro board is expected to formally vote on a transition to a 100 percent zero-emissions electric bus fleet by 2030. The two videos showcase the clean air, climate and jobs benefits through the lense of two current zero emission bus workers.

In response, Sierra Club Deputy Director, Beyond Coal Campaign Evan Gillespie released the following statement:
“When Metro stopped using diesel-powered buses, they proved they are leaders in cleaner transportation. But gas is still a polluting fossil fuel. Today LA’s air is still unsafe to breath and is getting worse. To continue leading the nation in clean transportation, Metro must commit to an all zero emission bus fleet. In doing so they’ll clean up our air and protect our climate while providing good local jobs.”
