The good news is that you don’t need to reinvent the wheel. The Ready for 100 campaign has resources from the national, state and local level to offer you. There is a robust team at the national Sierra Club that offers orientations and trainings. We have a state convener who organizes monthly gatherings for the PA Ready for 100 groups to connect and learn from each other. In Southeastern PA, we have county conveners and working groups that work across counties. We are all here to help!
Here’s how to start if you are interested to passing a Ready for 100 Resolution
- Complete this Ready for 100 Interest Form. We will send it along to your county’s Ready for 100 Convener and set up a one on one meeting
- Read up on what other communities have done. Look at case studies here
- Sign up with the National Ready for 100 and attend a new community orientation with the national Ready for 100 Team
- Start a list of people and groups in your community who might be interested in seeing progress on clean air and clean energy.
- Work with your county convener to set up an orientation for interested people and review the steps involved in passing a resolution.
Resolution Guidelines
Each of the 160 (probably more by the time you are reading this) passed resolutions were confirmed by a national review team working with Ready For 100 to ensure a minimum level of compliance to the goals of the Ready For 100 campaign. These are guidelines, not all communities have addressed every aspect, but basic tenets, like setting the goal of 100% renewables by a specified date are covered in each of the approved resolutions.
Example Resolutions
There are over 135 resolutions to choose from from across the country. See the 100% Commitments page for the full list and links for more info.
