For Mother Earth
What's causing this disturbance?
This instability
What's causing me to toss and turn at night?
What's stopping my mind from relaxing?
What's holding me back from dreaming?
What's holding me back from falling asleep?
Woman,
I am torn into tiny fragmented pieces
My soul shattered by your pain
I'm no longer able to lie my head down close beside you
for fear of your anger
Your brokeness, fractured, splintered
Splitting into every direction
Cracking
Breaking apart without warning or hesitation
Wreaking hell and havoc beyond imagination
For too long this revolution has been too silent
Stirring deep inside of you
But who can blame you?
After enduring transgression after transgression
Is there no other reason?
Is there any other explanation?
Who knew and who could see all these things coming?
The tragic results and consequences
of man's negligence and greed
Woman, what did they expect?
Hardly not this stormy reaction for the entire world to see
With open wounds and scars proudly showing
Cuts more than miles high and miles deep
Reflecting the pain, damage and destruction
Both of our grieving hearts bleeding
Deep inside of you and
deep inside of me
