Sara Agerton is a challenger running for PA House District 88. She is a social worker by profession and has served on the Mechanicsburg Borough Council since 2018.

As a borough councilor, Ms. Agerton participated in the approval of the borough climate action plan; she has also helped so secure grants for various environmental projects in Mechanicsburg, including tree planting, “bee motels”, school outreach, and food waste education.

Ms. Agerton is proud of her ability to find common ground with people across party lines on environmental issues. “You never know where people stand on the environment,” she told GVP volunteers. “You can find things to tap into if you listen.”

 Patty Kim is running for the open State Senate District 15 seat. She is a former news anchor, reporter, and Harrisburg City Councilwoman, and has been the representative for PA House District 103 for twelve years.

Ms. Kim is a previous Sierra Club endorsee and “environmental champion”. PA Conservation Voters gives Ms. Kim a lifetime score of 94%. Her previous accomplishments include introducing House Bill 597 to allow counties to increase tipping fees to expand recycling facilities; helping to secure a low-interest loan to fix drinking water problems in Steelton; and helping to secure a grant for Capitol Region Water to repair their sewage overflow system.

Mark Temons is  running for the open State Senate District 31 seat. He has expertise in sustainable construction, as well as experience in building design, workforce development, and community organizing. Since 2019, Mr. Temons has worked with the Commonwealth and
nonprofit organizations to design home improvement projects to keep seniors living in their homes through retirement or disability.

A lifelong environmentalist, Mr. Temons is an advocate for green energy development and family farm preservation. He has a particular passion for the Susquehanna river dating from his youth.
