Governor Pinchot Group

The Sierra Club was founded in 1892 by writer, explorer, and conservationist John Muir and a number of his supporters. They created the Sierra Club to, in Muir’s words, “do something for wildness and make the mountains glad.” It is a nonprofit, member-supported, public interest organization that promotes conservation of the natural environment by influencing public policy decisions, whether they be legislative, administrative, legal, and electoral.

The Governor Pinchot Group of the Pennsylvania Chapter is comprised of the following counties in South Central Pennsylvania:  Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Lebanon, Perry, and York.
