Join us July 23 as we hike to the DuPont Bridal Veil Falls from the Fawn Lake parking area going past Fawn Lake and along the old Airstrip. We will return to the parking area with the option to hike down to the Little River to see the rapids before it reaches the top of the Falls.

• First Meeting Place at 9:30 AM: Asheville Outlets parking lot behind Waffle House off Exit 33 of I-26 on Rt. 191.  
• Second Meeting Place: Pisgah Forest Walmart parking (back of center aisles close to Taco Bell on Forest Gate Drive) at 10:00 AM.  From here we will carpool to the Fawn Lake parking area in DuPont.  
• For those who would like to go directly to the trail head: Fawn Lake Parking: 3051 Reasonover Rd, Cedar Mountain, NC 28718 meeting at 11:00 AM where we will start the hike.  Please tell me your meeting location in your response so I will know where to look for you.  We will be back to Asheville by 3 PM.

The hike will start on the Fawn Lake Road going past Fawn Lake to the Airstrip and trail.  Continuing with the Shelter Rock trail and Corn Mill Shoals out to Bridal Veil Falls where we will have lunch.  We will return on Corn Mill Shoals with the option to continue, on to the Little River rapids which feeds Bridal Veil Falls. From there we will return on the Laurel Ridge, Cart, and Mine Mountain trails back to the parking area.  

The nominal hike will be 5.7 miles with 740 ft. elevation gain.  If we go to the Little River it would be 6.6 miles and 830 ft. elevation gain.

If anyone is experiencing COVID symptoms, is still in quarantine after testing positive for COVID, is feeling sick, and/or has a fever, they should not attend this outing.  Well behaved dogs are welcome on the hike and be on a leash.
