Warren Wilson College is just outside of Asheville and has a wonderful trail system which is
open to the public. On Saturday, April 6, we will do a hike there that will take us through
scenic woods and along a beautiful stream. We will do around 3-4 miles (depending on the
wishes of the group we could do a bit more or less). There is only about 200 feet of elevation
gain on the hike. We will be stopping for lunch along the stream at a place we choose.
Since this is so close to town, we will all meet at the trailhead at 10:30 a.m. We will be back to the parking lot by 2:30 p.m. It’s only about 15 minutes from Asheville just off I-40 between Asheville and Black Mountain. There are several sites to begin hiking and when you email or text to sign up we will send you a link to the parking area where we will begin hiking.
If anyone is experiencing COVID symptoms, is still in quarantine after testing positive for COVID, is feeling sick, and/or has a fever, they should not attend this outing. Families are welcome! Any children should be accompanied and supervised by parents or other adult family members. Well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome. Please let the hike leader know about this ahead of time.
Please email hike leader Ed Maggart at edmaggart@gmail.com or text at 828-713-0541 to
sign up or ask any questions. We will limit the group size to 12. We hope to see you there!!
