On January 6, at 7 pm, Earl B. Hunter, Jr. will talk to Sierra Club members and friends via Zoom about how his company is encouraging Black people to participate in camping, particularly in America’s National Parks. Hunter is the Founder and President of Black Folks Camp Too, whose mission is to increase diversity in the outdoor industry by inspiring Black folks to go camping. The idea for Black Folks Camp Too was formed when Hunter and his son Dillon went on a camping road trip across the USA and Canada. As they traveled for three months, visiting 49 campgrounds in 20 states and provinces, they saw precisely ONE other Black family camping.
