NC Sierra Club Outings Leader 101 Training

Saturday, November 17, 2018, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM The Cornwell Center at Myers Park Baptist Church, 2001 Selwyn Ave.

Interested in showing off your favorite hikes, kayaking spots or other outdoor adventures? You can do it as an outings leader with the Sierra Club!
Participants need to be at least 18 yrs old and a member of the Sierra Club (new memberships are only $15 and you can join on the day of the training). Outdoor Leadership Training (OLT 101) will be taught from 9am to 1pm. Basic first aid will be taught from 1-5pm by Dr. Wes Wallace. Dr Wallace is an Assoc. Professor of Emergency Medicine at UNC Chapel Hill and a member of the Wilderness Medical Society.

Participants must complete both sections to advance toward full certification as Sierra Club outings leaders, and you must complete a provisional outing.
Current Sierra Club outings leaders can use this training to renew OLT101 and/or First Aid requirements, which must be renewed every four years.
