North Carolina Sierra Chapter Outings leaders have planned a camping/hiking weekend June 24-26 to explore potential wilderness and other areas in the Grandfather District of the Pisgah National Forest. Dubbed the "Great Grandfather Wilderness Weekend Camporee," or G2W2, the group outing will provide multiple opportunities to become familiar with some outstanding wild areas within the Grandfather District. We will be camping near the Mortimer area at a base camp and taking day hikes from there.

 

Group dinner of hamburgers, hotdogs, veggie burgers and fixin's on Saturday night is included in the camping cost. Participants will arrange for their own transportation (ride sharing is encouraged) and camping gear. Details will be provided upon registration.
