Good Election for Environment: NJ Sierra Club’s 2023 Election Round-Up

This year’s election results demonstrate a clear win for the environment, clean energy, NJ families and workers. The results from Election Day showed that the overwhelming majority of New Jersey Sierra Club’s endorsed candidates have won, including the incumbents endorsed. We look forward to continuing to work with the legislature and Governor Murphy to achieve critical, clean energy initiatives to combat climate, provide good, paying family, sustaining jobs and ensure energy security and independence for NJ. We would like to thank our volunteers and supporters who made their way out to the voting booths and elected our environmental champions.

“Yesterday, the clean energy transition won, clean air won, and energy independence won in New Jersey. New Jersey voters are very smart and continue to vote for environmental protections over and over again and deeply care about transitioning away from fossil fuels,” said Anjuli Ramos-Busot, Director of the New Jersey Sierra Club. “New Jersey Sierra Club is very proud to have endorsed environmental champions, and we are incredibly excited that a majority of our endorsed candidates won their seats. We especially look forward to working with now new Senators Mukerji and McKeon on protecting our environment.”
