Sierra Club New Jersey Chapter Endorses Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman

The Sierra Club is proud to announce our endorsement of Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman for reelection in 2022. Bonnie Watson Coleman has been a U.S. Representative for New Jersey's 12th Congressional District since 2014. Prior to that, she served in the New Jersey Assembly for eight consecutive terms.

“We are proud to endorse Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman for reelection this year. She has been a true environmental leader in Congress. We know that she will continue protecting open space, promoting renewable energy, while blocking dirty fuels in New Jersey's 12th Congressional District,” said Karen Becker, Political Chair of the Sierra Club New Jersey Chapter. “Rep. Watson Coleman has fought the PennEast Pipeline that would have threatened the environment and the safety of the people in her district. She stood with President Biden to stop the Keystone XL Pipeline, has opposed liquefied natural gas exports, and continually opposed fracking.”

The 12th Congressional District currently contains portions of Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset, and Union counties and includes 31 municipalities.

“There is no one more qualified to represent the 12th district than Bonnie Watson Coleman. We worked with her for eight years in the New Jersey Assembly and now for nearly eight years in Congress. She has fought to clean up toxic sites, advocate for women’s health, and require funding for open space, not only here, but throughout the country,” said Anjuli Ramos- Busot, New Jersey Director of the Sierra Club. “The Sierra Club is proud to endorse Rep. Watson Coleman and see her continue her great work protecting the environment in Congress.”
