Louise Wienckowski

Lousie Wienckowski

I’m a longtime member of the Sierra Club and have been on the Executive Committee of the White River Group for over 4 years.  One of my primary focuses recently has been educating the public on energy efficiency in homes and advocating for an update of Springfield’s Construction Codes.  I organized a public forum and panel discussion on Energy Efficiency back in March 2018 and have waged a campaign with the City Council to approve the 2018 Energy Conservation Codes.  This issue is under review currently.

I have been a cultivator of native plants for 30 years, and have enjoyed hiking throughout the Ozarks and many locations in the U.S.  I believe that the health of our planet Earth is in serious jeopardy and needs the attention and action of local and national government.
