Volunteer
We welcome interested volunteers to join us. Weekend day and overnight camping trips are scheduled throughout the year. We ask that you email us at ico.stlouis@gmail.com and attend a monthly meeting. We encourage you to attend a meeting to meet other volunteers and leaders to ask any questions you might have. You may remain a volunteer, but we hope you will consider becoming an Inspiring Connections Outdoors leader.
Become an Inspiring Connections Outdoors volunteer:
- Join the Sierra Club.
- Print and sign the Volunteer Agreement.
- Print and sign the Code of Ethics.
- Print, complete and sign the Volunteer Application.
- Mail the completed forms to:

Become an Inspiring Connections Outdoors leader:
- Complete the tasks listed above for becoming a volunteer.
- Attend monthly meetings.
- Participate in at least two outings with St. Louis Inspiring Connections Outdoors.
- Complete and pass a background check.
- Complete CPR, First Aid, and Inspiring Connections Outdoors Leadership Training within six months.
- Plan a trip accompanied by an experienced Inspiring Connections Outdoors leader.
St. Louis Inspiring Connections Outdoors is a volunteer effort. We have expenses for transportation, equipment, and food for each outing. Sierra Club doesn't provide funds to ICO groups. Contributions are welcome and needed. All cash donations are tax deductible through the Sierra Club Foundation under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Unfortunately, donations of items are not tax deductible.
