Maxine Lipeles, director of the Washington University Interdisciplinary Environmental Clinic received the Sierra Club’s William O. Douglas Award. She has been part of the Sierra Club’s Environmental Law Program for more than 15 years, playing a key role in the Club’s efforts to shut down coal-fired power plants, both in the Midwest and nationally.
The award was presented at a ceremony in San Francisco on September 12 by Michael Brune, the Sierra Club Executive Director and Aaron Mair, Sierra Club Board President.
