Chapter Volunteer Opportunities

We have many diverse talents among our members. We are able to do so much more for the environment when we utilize those talents in volunteer services for the club. The following are a few of the ways in which you can volunteer at the Chapter level:

Newsletter – We need people in the following areas: layout, editing, writing articles.

Conservation – We periodically get notices of meetings held by the Department of Conservation or the Department of Natural Resources. We need people to attend these meetings and speak up on various topics, such as forest or river issues.

Treasurer – This job does not require any accounting of transactions. It involves primarily oversight of the financial statements prepared by staff.

Missouri River – There will be activities relating to the celebration of the bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark journey and we are looking for people to help with Sierra Club involvement.

Fundraising – This committee is involved with various fundraising activities and is currently trying to institute some new programs.

Political – The Chapter is involved in statewide political races. If you are interested in promoting environmental candidates, your help is needed on this committee. Canvassing neighborhoods and attending candidate events are some of the activities for which volunteers will be needed.

If you are interested in any of the above areas, or if there are ideas you have for volunteering, please contact Donna Clark Fuller, (816) 779-7284, donnadan@accessus.net
