Although for most Missourians this year’s flood was not as damaging as the 1993 flood, the 2011 Missouri River flood involved more water volume and a longer duration of flooding.
As climate change occurs, expect greater extremes in Missouri river flow patterns. Now is the time to speak out for real solutions!

Suggested comments include:
1. Protect endangered species and provide quality wildlife habitat;
2. Provide money for buy-outs from willing sellers;
3. Expand the Big Muddy Wildlife Refuge.
4. Stop developments in the floodplain, such as the Maryland Pointe proposal
