Access is a big barrier to underserved communities getting outdoors. A new bill in congress seeks to increase access to nature by expanding public transit. Urge your congressmembers to cosponsor the Transit to Trails Act now.

Prioritizing parking has resulted in problems for housing development and equity. And since transportation is the largest source of climate change pollution, local ordinances that require off-street parking have significant sustainability implications. Nine months ago, Sierra Club participated in a press conference to pressure the EPA to clean up toxic emissions from heavy-duty vehicles. Last week, the Biden Administration announced the strongest ever emissions standards that should turbocharge sales of clean electric vehicles like school buses, moving vans, delivery and garbage trucks. These new standards will deliver significant health, economic, and climate benefits for all Minnesotans.
