This month, the LUT team celebrated the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board's passage of the resolution to continue with Midtown Greenway Regional Trail planning. If approved, the Regional Trail status would make the Midtown Greenway eligible for additional grants and funding. The team discussed the Blue Line Extension plan, agreeing to revisit and make a resolution weighing the benefits of a sustainable transportation corridor with the very real concerns community members have about displacement and business disruption. The team also discussed the barriers and opportunities around the Riverview corridor, including a possible rails-to-trails opportunity east of the Ford. Development.
