Today the Sierra Club announced its endorsement of Rep. Ilhan Omar for reelection in Minnesota's 5th Congressional District.
"We are proud to endorse Representative Ilhan Omar for reelection in 2022," said Margaret Levin, State Director for the Sierra Club North Star Chapter. “Representative Omar has been a champion for climate justice, and we share her vision for 100% clean, renewable energy, passage of the Zero Waste Act, and halting new fossil fuel infrastructure as we accelerate the transition to a green, equitable economy. She has forged strong coalitions with those most affected by environmental and racial injustices and is a fierce challenger to corporate polluters.
“We applaud Rep. Omar’s courageous environmental leadership and look forward to continued work together in Minnesota and in D.C.”
The Sierra Club will mobilize its members and supporters to elect endorsed candidates.
