What have you been doing for the last 21 years? The Sierra Club has been hosting our annual Bike Tour for every one of them. Come join us this Saturday, September 17th as we continue one of our favorite traditions. Tours in the past have covered major infrastructure plans and uncovered hidden gems across the metro, and we’re excited for all this year’s route has to offer.
This year’s Bike Tour we’re celebrating a very special occasion: the National Parks Centennial. Come crisscross the national park in our own backyard, the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area! We’ll be introduced to the recently unveiled Paddle Share (the first of its kind) and see how many times we can traverse the Mississippi on two wheels. Hear what’s going on with the North Minneapolis Greenway Pilot and see a brand new (yet-to-be-mapped!) bike trail above Boom Island.
Whether you’ve biked in Minneapolis once or one thousand times, this free, leisurely ride offers something new for everyone. It’s one of our favorite rides of the year, and we’d love for it to be one of yours too!
Details: The ride is about 15 miles long, with guest speakers at rest stops and a free lunch. Check-in starts at 9:30AM (ride begins at 10am) at Webster Elementary School, 425 5th St NE, Minneapolis.
Please register now so we can plan for you. See you Saturday!
