The Sierra Club North Star Chapter stands in solidarity with all who have worked for #Justice4Jamar. Our thoughts are with the family of Jamar Clark and the community following today’s decision.
Every single Minnesotan deserves a healthy community and is equally deserving of equal protection under the law. To address this we must all redouble our efforts to dismantle racism — including addressing the urgent problem of deadly police violence without accountability in communities of color.
We urge the City of Minneapolis and the Minneapolis Police Department to ensure that citizens are able to protest and make their voices heard in accordance with their first amendment rights.
