Update: On March 4, 2016, the U.S. Forest Service announced that it was rejecting a permit application to build infrastructure through a national forest near the Grand Canyon. These roads would have enabled a megadevelopment with 2,100 housing units and 3 million square feet of commercial space including hotels, a spa, and a conference center. This decision was made two days after Sierra Club launched the video campaign below in collaboration with our entertainment partners.
Ty Burrell and Nolan Gould, father-son duo on the TV sitcom Modern Family, are big fans of the Grand Canyon. So when they heard about a massive mega-development being planned near the South Rim, they decided to do something that'll really grab people's attention.
