Our Great Rivers Group includes all Cumberland Chapter members in Ballard, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Crittenden, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken,& Trigg counties.
Some of the environmental issues impacting the Great Rivers Group area include sprawl, and air and water quality problems exacerbated by Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations and coal-fired power plants. These problems impact the health and well-being of our families and communities as well as the ecosystems of the Ohio and Mississippi rivers, wildlife management areas, and state parks like Land Between The Lakes. In our mission to "explore, enjoy and protect the wild places of the earth" we not only get involved in issues, but have a fun and active outings program. To view our upcoming outings, check out the Cumberland chapter's outings calendar. Please join us!
We meet the last Thursday of every month at 7:00 pm in the Biology Building at MSU (Rm 1119) or during this time online with a Zoom meeting. We have speakers, as well as plan events and outings.
