Welcome to the Bluegrass Group

The Bluegrass Group is the local affiliate of the Sierra Club in Central Kentucky, sponsoring activities to inform Sierra Club members and the general public about local, regional, state, and national environmental issues. We provide many opportunities to meet, greet and talk about issues and environmental activism (see the Get Involved page), as well as get outdoors to experience what Kentucky has to offer.

Bluegrass Group Picnic

Monday, June 17, 2024 @ 6:30pm

The June meeting is always our Bluegrass Group Annual Picnic to be held at McConnell Springs, on Monday, June 17 beginning at 6:30PM – note new start time.
The picnic is a chance for members and their guests to mingle, socialize and chat (without using their phones) with each other, discuss business and issues if you like, or just be friendly. This is a pot-luck dinner so bring a food item to share, plus dinnerware to eat from and a drink of your choice (Lexington parks frown on alcohol) and be prepared to share stories and conversation with fellow members. Check back here as the picnic approaches for last minute details and updates.
