Save the date for the 16th annual Mississippi Earthtones Festival, brought to you by Alton Main Street and Sierra Club Illinois! The festival is a celebration of our river through art, music, and conservation.

Time: Noon - 10:00 PM
Where: Liberty Bank Alton Amphitheater, #1 Riverfront Drive Alton, IL 62002
What: Family-friendly activities take place between noon and 6:00 PM, and festival-goers can enjoy artist booths and live music until 10:00 PM.
Join us at this free and family-friendly event to peruse 50+ educational booths, live music, interactive art experiences and performances with Jacoby Arts Center, and great local food and beverages.
Entertainment schedule:
- Jake's Leg — Grateful Dead Tribute (7-10pm)
- Nonstop Reggae Band (3-6pm)
- Loftys Comet — Alternative Indie Jazz (12-2pm)
- Jason "Gordo" Gordon — 1-man, 10-piece band (2-3pm and 6-7pm)
Volunteers are needed, and those who pitch in will receive a free festival t-shirt. Sign up to volunteer here!
On the following Saturday, September 24, join us for a litter clean-up on the Mississippi River from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Bring gloves, a water bottle, and sturdy shoes, and we'll provide lunch, t-shirts, and bags. During MEF clean-ups to date, volunteers have removed 45 tons of trash from the Mississippi River.
