Happy Summer Fellow Sierrans!

This year we will be having our Summer Picnic on August 29th at McCully Heritage Project in Kampsville, IL. Our schedule is tentative, but we hope to do an easy, guided hike at 10 a.m., enjoy a potluck dinner, and hear from our special guest speakers around noon. Afterward, we will enjoy an afternoon paddle on the Illinois River (if Mother Nature agrees). For the campers in the group, there will be tent camping available under the stars on this bright, Full Moon night. 

McCullly also offers two fishing ponds, miles and miles of hiking trails, and a wetland to explore. Check next month's Palisades Views for a detailed schedule, and in the meanwhile visit the McCully Heritage Project website for more details on their work.
