Kaskaskia Group represents the Illinois counties of St. Clair, Monroe, Randolph, Washington, Clinton, Marion and Jefferson!
The Group was named after the Kaskaskia River, a tributary of the Mississippi River. The Kaskaskia River plays an important role in the natural ecosystem of Illinois. It is the second largest river system in the state; approximately 320 miles long. Like the Kaskaskia River, we strive to play an important role in the community. We face a variety of local challenges that have the potential to adversely impact the environment and our quality of life. We frequently address water quality and quantity issues, coal waste and threats posed by coal fired power plants, irresponsible land management and destruction of habitat and green space. We also strive to offer fun and enjoyable outings highlighting the wonderful things found only in nature.
As we confront these challenges, we need your help and invite you to join us in our efforts to ensure a hospitable planet for future generations! Everyone is welcome to welcome to participate.
