"EPA recommends that Hunter Lake application be denied on Clean Water Act grounds" via State Journal-Register

The federal Environmental Protection Agency is recommending that the City of Springfield's permit to build Hunter Lake be denied, stating that it does not meet federal guidelines laid out by the federal Clean Water Act.

The recommendation shows that ‘someone in the federal government is listening to the complaints of people like the Sierra Club. There are better ways to try and find more water if needed," said Don Hanrahan of the Sierra Club Sangamon Valley Group.
